2018 Australia Day picnic

Woods Reserve was the venue for this year’s Australia Day picnic lunch.  Daryl and Jill Mouser made an early start and located two lines of unoccupied car spaces backing on to an ideal shaded grassed area.  An added attraction was the sound of running water in the nearby Gibraltar Creek.

The car spaces soon filled with club members’ cars, a mixture of Triumphs and moderns, with a few later arrivals securing spaces in a nearby carpark.  A total of 25 club members, family and friends gathered for lunch, providing a great opportunity to catch up with friends following the Christmas break.

Although clouds threatened rain for much of the time, we managed to keep dry until early afternoon when the threat of showers became imminent.  We packed up and departed just before we were greeted with a heavy downpour on the drive home.

The new venue worked out fine and although popular, was nowhere near as crowded as Uriarra East.  Definitely the spot for future Australia Day club outings.
