Drive Your Triumph Day
10 February 2022

A fine turnout of nine Triumphs (4 Stags, 2 TR3As, a TR4, a Herald and a 2500TC) graced the Lanyon Homestead carpark for the annual Drive your Triumph Day run to celebrate Sir John Black’s birthday.  A most enjoyable run in perfect weather took us on an anti-clockwise loop around Cotter Road, Paddys River Road, Tidbinbilla Road and Tharwa Drive, where we assembled for lunch at the “The Barracks” café.

The run was uneventful apart from the very short setting on the right turn green arrow on departing Kirkpatrick Street together with some confusion now that a left turn onto Cotter Road is the norm.  Although this resulted in a disjointed convoy, all participants arrived at Lanyon Homestead within a few minutes of the lead group.

We settled in for a relaxed lunch on picnic tables under the shade of a spreading tree where we enjoyed the refreshing breeze on what turned out to be a warm day.

Check out the Drive Your Triumph Day website which displays an array of photos taken world-wide of Triumphs on the road celebrating Sir John’s birthday.  A photo of our assembled fleet of Triumphs should appear shortly.
