Historic Sports and Racing Cars at One Raceway (Wakefield Park) 2 Feb 25
Members from the TCC attended at One Raceway for the “Return to Goulburn”
Historic Car racing event hosted by The Historic Sports and Racing Car
Association.
Run over a 3 day weekend, our visit on Sunday provided an opportunity to
relive some of the classic moments of historic racing with more than 200 cars
participating. Races on the Sunday included a mixed multi-race program of all
categories, including;
- Historic and Classic sports and race cars running in mixed and class
competition,
- Formula V multiple classes and specification,
- Formula Ford, with classes ranging from original Kent design 1500/1600
pushrod engine (Anglia and Cortina) through to the more recent Zetec and
Duratec twin cam engines in both boosted and normal aspiration.
Paul Burke drove his nicely prepared Triumph TR7 V8 in several races without
incident and past member Matt Veal presented in a very attractive Formula Ford
(Kent powered).
Members attending included; John & Diane Armarego (Jag XJ12), Grahame
Kilby (Herald 12/50), Allan Caldwell (Stag), Paul Burke (TR7 V8), Pierre E &
Mary H (Kingswood), Chris D & Jan T (TR5), Barry Hamilton (Nissan Z), Max
Blyton (modern) and Daryl & Katie Mouser (modern).
A pleasant drive to/from and a great day overall. Facilities on and off track at
One Raceway (previously Wakefield Park) have changed/improved significantly
with great elevated spectator areas.
